Contacting us

For those of you who don't know our email addresses (it's in our respective profiles), you can email us at tonypua@yahoo.com for Tony, obviously, and im_ok_man@yahoo.com for me, Kian Ming. I'll be coming back to KL for about a month in May so maybe we'll have another get-together like the one we had last year? If not, if you want to meet up with me individually to talk about doing a PhD in the US or other related education issues, please email me with your details and hopefully, we'll be able to meet up in May. Indeed, one of our readers whom I met at last year's get together just emailed me to let me know that he got into a Duke Phd program and will be joining me at Duke later in fall.

Since you'll be back, mind joining us with Tony at the Bloggers United Malaysia Gathering 2007, Kian Ming?

A personal opinion:

So far, this blog has been a wonderful and useful meeting place for those interested in discussing Malaysia's education system. All the issues highlighted are very down to earth. Even newspaper or MPs tend to cite the discussions on this blog.

I am particularly confused with TP's decision to join DAP and involve in politics. The only thing i remember is that he joined to make changes, and DAP can provide him that opportunity. Although he has a PPE, that doesn't mean he has to involve in politics. I would really prefer a neutral TP, assessing the interesting phenomenon in our education system.

I am not saying that by joining DAP he will become bias against the current condition, but somehow people will start to loose faith in the things he highlight and label him as a tool of DAP propaganda. I think it is evident by some of the comments left at the blog - mostly linked to DAP and to vote BN out. By allying with politics, he is now opened to attacks and critics.

I hope TP can revoke his decision. Changes can be done through other channel as well and not neccesarily politics.

hey can i just check if it's true that the gov doesn't recognise qualifications any other than SPM and STPM? For eg. if I did A levels and decided to temp in one of the national schools, I'll get paid the "SPM pay"?
