PTPTN Loan Defaulters beware!
Warning from the Deputy Higher Education Minister.
I would rather have a person who has integrity and honour without a degree than a person who has borrowed and not paid up but qualified with a degree. Thus a person with an accredited degree has options of abusing his or her position and does not result in a scrupulous person.
I'd actually say that blocking them at airports is a lackluster effort. Going out of the way to sue a few of these people in their residing countries for contract-breaking, in contrast, can well yield a lot more in returns, and will more than justify the litigation cost.
But then, these are Malaysian bureaucrats we're talking about...
First of all, please know that not ALL who defaulters are barred at the airport. Only those who paid ZERO over 5 years and made ZERO effort to talk/write to PTPTN.
How can you say you don't have RM50 per month when you can afford a honeymoon package to Hawaii? and when you are stopped at the airport, you blame the bureaucrats?
How can you at a young age can afford an UMRAH package of RM3500 - RM 4500 in cash and not pay RM50 per month?
How can you work for a multinational corporation and cannot pay RM50 per month?
Be a responsible citizen and think of the others that come after you that are being left without the fund because you choose to buy a bigger car instead of paying your education loan!
I agree with comments here that barring errant loan payers from leaving the country may not be effective enough. How about a tax deduction for these loan payers, some may have genuine difficulty in servicing their loans?
Stand up, all victims of oppression, For the tyrants fear your might! Don't cling so hard to your possessions, For you have nothing if you have no rights! Let racist ignorance be ended, For respect makes the empires fall! Freedom is merely privilege extended, Unless enjoyed by one and all. So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race
Let no one build walls to divide us, Walls of hatred nor walls of stone. Come greet the dawn and stand beside us, We'll live together or we'll die alone. In our world poisoned by exploitation, Those who have taken, now they must give! And end the vanity of nations, We've but one Earth on which to live. So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The international ideal, Unites the human race.
And so begins the final drama, In the streets and in the fields. We stand unbowed before their armour, We defy their guns and shields! When we fight, provoked by their aggression, Let us be inspired by life and love. For though they offer us concessions, Change will not come from above! So come brothers and sisters, For the struggle carries on. The Internationale, Unites the world in song. So comrades, come rally, For this is the time and place! The Internationale, Unites the human race.

TO ALL EMPLOYERS!
ReplyDeleteHave any of your staff are being stopped at the airport for not settling their PTPN loan?
BE CAREFUL OF THEM!
They can be equally irresponsible to your organisation too.
Indiscipline and irresponsiblity is a cancer and will not go away.
Good post, Kian Ming! Keep up the good work!
