HK PhD Fellowship Scheme

Those interested in doing a PhD in Hong Kong should check out this fellowship. Looks like a pretty attractive offer.

Application requires fees which is difficult when money is tight and no guarantee of admission. I feel that application should be free of charge and that they are only collecting fees to pay their admission offices a livable wage.

If application fees were not charged, there will be applicants that simply apply although they are not really interested. Moreover the fees charged by HK universities are trivial compared to US schools.

I hope that this will give more opportunities to non-Malays to pursue their higher education beyond just degree. Given that Malaysian scholarships for PhDs and masters are given ONLY to Malays or rather 95% to Malays and cost at least RM 500k ++, that not including paying for the families they brought over overseas with them while they study. It's sad that non-Malays are so limited to just these scholarships to advance their education. Malaysian government should leanr to be fair to all its citizens, sigh, what a sad reckoning. Yet non-Malays in malaysia have to compete so hard to get a place to do their PhDs. Malaysian government! Why can't you just recognise everyone as Malaysians and give everyone equal opportunity to pursue education which is something that can bring about changes and advancement to our country? Why just send the Malays? Are non-Malays in Malaysia not Malaysians? Sigh...

Sigh, sigh sigh......

Non-Malays are so deprived. Worse than non-malaySIANS.

Are you sure that non-Malays do not get to do Phds - with scholarship some more? Do you really think the world is that gullible?

Where are your facts? My grandmother will like to see it. She says she wants to do a Phd too....
